Traditional Thai Massage

Traditional Thai/Thai Yoga Massage Training Offered By Thai-Issan Massage Academy

Traditional Holistic Body Healing

Our massage therapy program at Thai-Issan Massage Academy emphasizes Traditional Thai massage. Traditional Thai massage, or Thai yoga massage, is an ancient healing system combining acupressure, Indian Ayurvedic principles, and assisted yoga postures.

Traditional Thai Massage Offers

Compression & Stretching

Traditional Thai massage uses no oils or lotions. There is constant body contact between the giver and receiver, but rather than rubbing on muscles, the body is compressed, pulled, stretched, and rocked. The receiver will be posed in a variety of yoga-like positions during the course of the massage. This is also combined with deep static and rhythmic pressures.

The yoga-like postures in Traditional Thai massage are not difficult positions to achieve, and regular use of them encourages the body to respond in a familiar way. The posture of Traditional Thai massage may be an effective and interesting way to start clients with yoga as a regular practice of easy body movement to promote health and flexibility.

Stress-Reducing Thai Massage

Improves Circulation & Energy

As a student and provider of Thai massage, one learns the proper amount of deep pressure and rhythm that provides a significant reduction in stress. Reducing stress helps the body promote proper circulation with less restriction. There is also an increase in the amount of positive energy in the body. All of this helps to bring better balance to the mind and body. Traditional Thai massage improves flexibility, reduces stress, improves circulation, increases energy, and centers the mind and body.

Learn More About Thai Yoga Massage

The different positions to learn as part of the Thai Yoga Massage program are designed to help clients maneuver their body and assist with the healing flow of energy. This set/series of movements is performed to assist the client to tune into their body. Pressure points are activated passively, encouraging connection and rhythm. Yoga means “to connect”, so Thai Yoga Massage is a mode of therapy that serves to connect therapist and client in a healing mode.
